Two senior Fijiana 7s reps Rusila Nagasau and Reapi Uluinasau believe the side has what it takes to win the Toulouse 7s this weekend.

The duo won bronze medal with the Fijiana side at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics last year.

Team captain Nagasau said preparations had been tough and the players were ready.

“We have been preparing hard. We have had a good preparation and it’s about time to lift ourselves and finish the series on a high, Nagasau said.

Nippy playmaker Uluinasau said the side had played the role bridesmaid to winners on many occasions and it’s about time they took centre stage.

“We won bronze in Tokyo and then we managed to reach the final in the Dubai 7s and lost to Australia. “I believe we can finish with a gold medal in the last tournament that we will play on the series,” Uluinasau said.

The Saiasi Fuli-coached Fijiana side opens its campaign against USA at 8.15pm today.

We then play Australia at 4.06am tomorrow morning while our last pool match is against South Africa at 8.14pm tomorrow.

The cup quarterfinals begin at 6.35am on Sunday, the cup semifinals at 11.30pm while the cup final is scheduled for 3.56am on Monday.
