Fiji Airways Fiji 7s skipper Tevita Daugunu expects the inclusion of Semi Kunatani and Napolioni Bolaca to boost the confidence level of the players for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments in Toulouse and London.

Kunatani marks his return in the abbreviated code after a lapse of five years while Bolaca has been drafted back into the nationa 7s team from the Fijian Drua.

Daugunu said the pool for the Toulouse 7s was tough.

He said all the teams including Kenya, Wales and France would be competitive.

“We are looking forward to the tournament,” Daugunu said.

“The players like Semi and Napo (Napolioni) will add experience.

“Semi will boost the forwards and Napo will add firepower in the in the backline.

“In terms of our preparations towards Toulouse and London, it has been a gruelling four weeks of training.

“We know that the best way to prepare is to work hard and we worked hard every day.”

Daugunu said they pushed each other during training sessions. He said they were ready for the two tournaments.

“The main focus during our training was on defence and retaining the kick off ball,” Daugunu said.

“We have polished up in that area really well. Just like every team, we have prepared really well and we are prepared to win.

“We promise to deliver for the expectations of the fans.”
